We are rather used to the fact that Polish surnames very often cause many difficulties for people from abroad. You don’t have to look far – during the currently held Australian Open, judges and announcers have to really struggle to pronounce the name of our great tennis player and number one in the WTA ranking – Iga Świątek – quite correctly. Therefore, it is not surprising that with foreign names and surnames of movie stars there are also big problems when pronouncing them. They are also often twisted, and the result is caricatured.

We have compiled a list of actors and actresses whose names are most often mispronounced. We present their correct pronunciation written phonetically. It’s not perfect, of course, but it’s the closest to the correct version.
