Willow wasn’t deleted? A surprising statement from the creator

Creator and showrunner of the series Willow. Jon Kasdan posted a statement on Twitter in connection with Deadline’s announcement of the cancellation of the fantasy series. In it, he also emphasized that the scripts for the second season are ready and he hopes that they will be created, but not in the next 12 months. They don’t plan to move on in the next year. However, he highlights the situation this way: no one from Lucasfilm or the show’s crew considers the decisions made to be the final cancellation of the show.
Willow – Season 2 is possible
So it looks like sooner or later season 2 is possible. This is how Kasdan explains it.
“Last week, the decision was made to release the cast from their contract so that they can look for new roles for the coming year. I’m sure if someone asked me or the people at Lucasfilm a question, no one would characterize the decision made in terms of the final cancellation of the series.
He explains that the streaming market is currently changing its approach to creating content, and as a result, the pace is slowing down and all decisions on how to create series are being rethought.
In the announcement of the cancellation, Deadline pointed out that Lucasfilm treats the brand Willow seriously and will want to go back to it. This somehow aligns with Kasdan’s words. Perhaps they will continue the story in a different form? At the moment, there are speculations, because the creator did not specify it.
However, there is no denying that Kasdan’s statement leaves fans with hope that they will return to this fantasy world initiated by the movie Willow.

Willow – fans criticize Disney+
In multiple Twitter posts, fans are attacking Disney+ and other streaming platforms for removing shows that positively represent LGBTQ+ on screen. Willow is the latest example of what they consider a very frustrating trend of canceling this type of production. They believe that titles showing the affection of two women deserve more.
Starting to see an obvious pattern in what kind of shows are canceled and which ones are not 🤨 #RepresentationMatters #SaveWillow #Willow #SaveWarrionNun #SaveCursed #SaveFateTheWinxSaga https://t.co/6sfzdPQ4vq

Another sad news for the queer community – Willow was canceled after 1 season. I cannot take the #cancelyourgays trend anymore – when will streaming platforms understand that #RepresentationMatters and we aren’t a small audience? Let us stay loud!#SaveWarriorNun pic.twitter.com/mSXAj3u58X
