Walter Hamada, former head of DC Films, opens a new production company. He will do horror

Former head of DC Films, Walter Hamada, launches a new production company, 18hz Productions, based in Paramount. Key employees were hired.
Nathan Samdahl, a former Paramount executive who was instrumental in making the horror film smilewill serve as senior vice president of the company, and Nick Romano has been selected as chief creative officer.
Hamada entered the production world late last year after more than 15 years at Warner Bros. Studios. and New Line, overseeing the creation of horror and superhero films such as This and Aquaman. In November, his fledgling company signed an exclusive multi-year production deal with Paramount to spearhead the studio’s mainstream horror franchise. It aims to release several low- and mid-budget films annually in theaters and streaming.

18hz Productions – company name
The name of the company reflects the emphasis on horror. 18 Hz is known as the ghost frequency because it is beyond the range of human hearing which is 20 Hz and above. In addition, it has been proven to induce feelings of fear and paranoia. Members of the paranormal community consider 18 Hz to be the sound of fear itself.
