Virgin River and Ginny & Georgia with new seasons. Netflix continues hit series

Series Ginny & Georgia tells the story of teenaged Ginny and her mother Georgie who have moved to a new city to start a new life. However, secrets from Georgia’s past have complicated their plans. Season 2 of the production spent three weeks at the top of the most popular English-language series on Netflix. In the first week after the premiere, which took place on January 5, 2023, it received as many as 180 million hours watched, and in the next – 162 million hours. Although the viewership decreased in the following days, the title still maintained high results and almost jumped into the top ten of the list of the most popular series in history on this streaming service.

As a result, the streamer ordered two more series of this comedy-drama in which they star Brianne Howey and Antonia Gentry. In addition, the series gained a new showrunner. Sarah Glinski will take over from Debra J. Fisher.

It is worth noting that the second season ended on a cliffhanger. In an interview for The Hollywood Reporter Fisher said the third series will be a huge rollercoaster. She added that she and series creator Sarah Lampert had planned from the beginning to create a four-season story.

Netflix also noticed that the series Virgin Riverin which they play the main characters Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Hendersonenjoys unflagging popularity. Even before the premiere of season 5, which will take place in autumn 2023, the platform ordered another series.

Virgin River is a drama series based on the novel of the same name by Robyn Carr. Season five’s showrunner is Patrick Sean Smith, who took over from Sue Tenney. Filming for the fifth series ended in November 2022, but no exact release date has yet been announced.
