The Penguin – what is the series about?
The story takes place right after the events of the film Batman. After the death of mobster Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), Gotham is left with a power vacuum in the underworld. Penguin wants to take over and rule the city, but he has competition in the form of Sofia Falcone, the daughter of a deceased gangster, who will be his enemy and antagonist. He plays this role Cristin Milioti.
Matt ReevesDylan Clark Farrell and Lauren LeFranc are executive producers. LeFranc serves as showrunner and writer. Craig Zobel will direct two episodes.
The premiere date of The Penguin series is unknown. The project is being developed for HBO Max.
