Super Mario Bros – Luigi has taken over the role of the princess. The creator explains the reasons

Super Mario Bros is to surprise viewers with the roles of Luigi and Princess Peach. According to directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, these characters will switch roles. This means that the princess will not be a damsel in distress, and it is Luigi who will have to be rescued.

Super Mario Bros – Role Changes

– Mario’s goal is to save his brother from Bowser’s clutches. He must embark on an epic adventure to do so. So Luigi, who is a nervous hero, is at his worst because he has to survive Bowser’s interrogation.

The creators add that telling the story of Mario saving the princess is too obvious. Also, they realized that the leader of the kingdom has to be a strong character, so that allows them to develop the concept.

Super Mario Bros – Voice Cast

Chris Pratt lends his voice to the title character. In addition, the dubbing cast includes Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, and Sebastian Maniscalco as Foreman Spike.
