Suicide Squad – Director’s Cut Will Be Released? Ayer talked to James Gunn about it
ATTENTION! THIS CONTENT IS A RUSSIP, SO IT MAY BE TRUE, BUT IT MAY NOT BE TRUE.

One Suicide Squad fan expressed concern on Twitter that under James Gunn, who co-directs the DCU with Peter Safran, David Ayer’s edit of the popular 2016 film will never see the light of day. Unexpectedly, the director responded to this tweet, giving all fans unexpected hope. The tweet is in Spanish but has been translated by foreign media.
Suicide Squad – Ayer Cut has a chance
So wrote David Ayer, director of the show Suicide Squad on talking to James Gunn:
– I spoke to him a while ago. All with patience. He has the right to create his universe first before turning to the past. Head’s up. Good things are coming.
Hablé con el hace rato. Todo con paciencia. El tiene derecho de armar su nuevo universo antes de visitar al pasado. Animo. Vienen cosas buenas 😉 https://t.co/Kh6BjrXITY

So this is a suggestion that Ayer Cut has a real chance to see the light of day. Recall that the theatrical version of the film Suicide Squad it was edited by someone else after studio interference. Much of the story and how it is told has been changed. 90% of Jared Leto’s Joker scenes were also cut. All because the then authorities of Warner Bros. panicked after the hate on Batman vs. Superman and wanted to change the tone to a lighter one. According to David Ayer, his film is practically ready, so it will not require a large financial outlay, like Zack Snyder’s Justice League. The director himself and everyone who has had the opportunity to see this version says that it is a much better film.
At this point, though, it’s unclear when James Gunn and Peter Safran might turn to that past. They currently have their hands full with the construction of the DCU and the projects announced in its first chapter. Gunn, however, respects Ayer as a filmmaker, resulting in a special thank you in the credits to him Suicide Squad: The Suicide Squad.
