5th season Stranger Things is the final series. Work on the script has already started, as indicated by the creators of the series during a special discussion panel in Los Angeles. Ross and Matt Duffer and executive producer Shawn Levy revealed what we can expect in the final season. Of course, there were many generalities, but it is certain that there will be no shortage of emotions, and the fans will be deeply moved again.
Stranger Things – season 5 preview
The Duffer Brothers revealed in what climate the final season will be made.
The finale is kind of the culmination of all the seasons, so it kind of has a bit of each, where before each season was so distinctly different: season 3 was our big monster blockbuster, season 4 was a psychological horror. I think what we’re trying to do is go back a bit, in terms of tone to season 1, but in terms of scale it’s more in line with what season 4 is about. I hope there’s a little bit of everything there.
What’s more, Matt Duffer shared an interesting fact that the plan for the sequel made the Netflix team in tears during a two-hour meeting with the directors.
We made our bosses cry, which I felt was a good sign. The only other times I’ve seen them cry were at budget meetings.
Shawn Levy referred to the joke, explaining that they were indeed completely different situations. He also indicated that the final season will be largely based on the stories of the characters.
In the case of the Duffer brothers, although the series has become extremely famous and the characters are cult, and there is a lot of 80s vibe, supernatural phenomena and genre in all of this, it is mainly about people, about these characters. Season 5 clearly deals with the characters’ backstories, as that has always been the driving force behind Stranger Things.
Work on the set is scheduled to begin in 2023.
