Star Wars – what about the Damon Lindelof project? The creator wondered if he really wanted to create in this world

According to The Hollywood Reporter, two films are currently in development at Lucasfilm. One of them is the project Damon Lindelof (Lost, watchmen), which is in the script stage as of July 2022.
The acclaimed screenwriter did not reveal specifics, but spoke to SXSW about the pressures of creating in this world. So much so that he himself wondered if he really wanted to create a project in this universe.
All I can say is that the degree of difficulty is extremely, extremely, extremely high. If [projekt] cannot be great, it should not exist. That’s all I can say, because I have the same associations with all this as you, which is the first film [Gwiezdne wojny: część IV – Nowa nadzieja – przyp. red.]which I watched sitting on my dad’s lap. I think it’s possible that sometimes you have so much respect for something that you start walking into the kitchen and you’re like, “Maybe I shouldn’t cook, maybe I should just eat?”
Reports that Lindelof is working on a feature film set in the Star Wars universe first appeared in March 2022. The following October, it was confirmed that the co-creator of Lost would indeed be writing the screenplay for the film, with Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Ms. Marvel) likely to direct. It is speculated that this is to be a project that will take place after the events of Rise of Skywalker, but will offer a completely new story. However, fans must be patient when it comes to specifics.
