In the film Spider-Man: No Way Home we’ve seen a lot of villains. Green Goblin, Sandman, Doctor Octopus and Electro appeared in the production, but it turns out that Mysterio’s return was also planned at some stage. What’s more, the antagonist known from the previous part of the Spider-Man film series was supposed to kill Aunt May.
We know this thanks to the storyboards that Phil Langone posted online. The artist showed the clash of Spider-Man and Mysterio on them, and the hero was supposed to go berserk after the death of his aunt. Langone in an Instagram post mentioned that he wanted to show the true strength of Spider-Man in this way. In his opinion, this is one of the most powerful Marvel heroes, but he never showed his full potential due to the fact that he did not want to kill anyone. Here, we were supposed to see him in “berserk mode” and watch him mercilessly pummel the villain with his fists.
Langone added that he didn’t even finish the entire storyboard in the end, but it was an idea he had a lot of fun working on.
