Relumino mode for the visually impaired on Samsung TVs for 2023

The Relumino mode will allow you to adjust the image parameters on the TV so that people with visual impairments can enjoy movies full of colors and contrasts. The feature will be available on selected TVs from 2023 from the Q80C model onwards, i.e. mainly on QLED, Neo QLED 4K and OLED and Neo QLED Excellence Line 8K models.
Relumino[1] is the first technology of its kind that allows visually impaired people to enjoy their favorite TV shows, movies and games without the need for additional equipment. Relumino uses artificial intelligence developed by Samsung to optimize image parameters. Thanks to it, it is possible to dynamically outline the edges of elements on the screen and restore color balance, which affects the better vision of people, objects and text.

Relumino Mode, unveiled at CES 2023, will be available on 2023 Neo QLED 4K TV models: QN80C, QN85C, QN90C, OLED: S90C, S95C and Neo QLED Excellence Line 8K: QN800C, QN900C for 2023 connected to sources via DTV port or HDMI. It does not support other sources (e.g. OTT).
In addition, at this year’s CES, Samsung unveiled a new generation of Relumino glasses, which debuted at the event in 2018 as part of the C-Lab program, as well as a mobile application that aims to make the visual experience more pleasant and personalized on every screen.
Relumino mode won the award CES 2023 Innovation Award.
SeeColors application for people with color vision disorders
Relumino is not the only facilitation for people with visual impairments. A few years ago, Samsung also showed an application for people with color vision disorders. Thanks to the SeeColors app[2] Samsung TVs, users can recognize the type and degree of their color vision impairment and adjust the screen settings accordingly. It is available on all TVs from 2022 and on selected series from 2015 to 2021 (mainly higher models without FHD and the most basic Crystal UHD models). The SeeColors application was created in cooperation with ColorliteĀ®, a Hungarian company that uses certified technology based on the results of 20 years of research to create lenses for people with color vision disorders.
[1] The Relumino mode is designed for people with low vision (source: WHO, World report on vision, 2019) and showing symptoms of blurred vision. Some features may be introduced at a later date and the service may not be available at the time of purchase of this product.
