Penguin – Clancy Brown in the cast. He will play an important character from the Batman universe

Clancy Brown (Dexter: New Blood) will star in the series The Penguin. He will play a powerful Mafia boss and gangster from Gotham known as Salvatore Maroni. The hero has appeared numerous times in DC comics and is a known foe of Batman. The actor is represented by CAA and Pop Art Management.
Penguin it’s a spin-off Batman. In the HBO Max series, the main role will be played by the title character, which he will reprise Colin Farrell. The production will consist of eight episodes and is being created by Warner Bros Television and DC Studios. One of the executive producers is Matt Reeves.
Though little is known about the plot penguinColin Farrell explained that the series will focus on the power struggle among Gotham’s criminals. The main character will want to take advantage of the chance and fill the void left by Carmine Falcone’s death. However, it soon turns out that he is not the only one with such plans.
Matt’s idea [Reevesa, przyp. red] is that the series o Penguins began a week after the events of Batman. If it works and is interesting for viewers, Batman 2 will start when the story of the series ends.

In the book The Art of The Batman it was revealed that there were plans for a version of the villain where Farrell was more like himself.
