NCIS: Los Angeles – end of the series. Season 14 will be the last

As reported by Deadline, the 14th season of the series is currently airing NCIS Agents: Los Angeles will be the last. This means that the series finale will air on May 14, 2023. In total, this production will have 322 episodes.

According to the sources of the portal, the creators and the cast learned about it on Friday, January 20, 2023. However, it was a surprise to everyone, because the series still has an excellent viewership and, thanks to the sale of licenses around the world, was earning money for the studio. Especially after the last joint history with the series NCIS agents and NCIS: Hawaii the university was popular.

However, the journalist points out that the series is simply expensive to produce, and many stations are still looking to cut costs due to the pandemic. Perhaps recently the profits from the series fell and it was no longer profitable, but at the moment it is speculation. The decision has been made now to give the creators time to prepare the closure of this story.

NCIS: Los Angeles – a unique series

It is the fifth longest-running series in CBS television history. The first four are Gunsmoke, Lassie, CSI and Criminal Minds. The last two gained in this ranking due to recent returns after years with new episodes.

Plus a world series NCIS was quite an interesting exception, because after so many years the main roles were still played by the same people, i.e. LL Cool J and Chris O’Donnell. Mostly the cast changed many times for these types of titles.
