Midnight Suns – results below expectations? The sales breakdown in the PS Store indicates this

In early December, it debuted on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X Marvel’s Midnight Suns. The production was positively received by critics (you can read our review here), and its average on Opencritic is 83/100. However, it seems that in this case the strength of the brand and positive feedback may not have been enough, and sales are not as good as one would expect from a game with the heroes and villains of the House of Ideas in the lead role.

The PlayStation Blog published a list of the best-selling productions in the PS Store, Sony’s digital store. Marvel’s Midnight Suns was there only on the fourteenth position (out of 20 possible) in the ranking from the USA and was overtaken, among others, by The Witcher 3 (in December the game received a free update to the PS5 version), Elden Ring, Grand Theft Auto Vand even Gotham Knights, which fared noticeably worse in reviews than the work of Firaxis Games. Interestingly, in a similar comparison taking into account sales in Europe, Midnight Suns it didn’t make it to any of the twenty places.

It is worth noting that these results concern sales on one platform and only in the digital version. At the moment, we don’t know how the PC version, Xbox Series S/X and boxed editions fared.
