Kang the Conqueror is the MCU’s most powerful villain? The actor and director comment

Jonathan Majors is promoting his new film at the Sundance Film Festival under the title Magazine Dreamswhere he plays a bodybuilder. Of course, during every interview, the topic of Kang the Conqueror, the main villain of the Multiverse Saga belonging to the MCU, comes up. We will meet him in the movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantomania.
Kang the Conqueror – inspirations
This is what he explained about his inspiration for the character in an interview with Deadline:
– Inspiration for the role of Kang? He’s a conqueror, so they’re Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, and Julius Caesar. In addition, it is part of an already built universe. These are the inspirations, and then there are the counterpoints that are important in creating a character to show how he stands up against other heroes.
He admits that he could write a long book on building this villain and what tools he uses here.
Kang the Conqueror – how powerful is he?
Jonathan Majors explains that his inner strength is what drives Kang. He emphasizes that this is someone who feels great pain, suffering and discomfort. It is these things that give him a lot of inner strength. Added to this is his frustration with social norms and the world. These inner aspects made Kang able to become this powerful villain.
– These internal tensions give him his power. How does it manifest? Wait, you’ll see. Yes, his pain is extraordinary, and I think it’s something big that makes him live up to the expectations of being the MCU’s biggest and most powerful villain to date.
The director backs this up Payton Reedadding that Kang has the ability to experience the past, present, and future simultaneously. He explains that he skillfully uses his energy. There is no wasted gesture or word in his behavior. If Kang says something, he is completely serious.
Recall that Kang the Conqueror is also associated with his variants from alternate parallel worlds, which in itself gives him a completely different meaning than with any other villain. Marvel Studios in a press release officially announced that Kang the Conqueror is the MCU’s most powerful villain to date.
And Jonathan Majors openly said what he thinks about the first two parts of Ant-Man:
They weren’t movies for me. I find them too goofy and boring. The second one was really boring. I’m happy to be a part of the first good Ant-Man movie. Kang should remove the first two from our timeline.
Ant-Man 3 – premieres on February 17, 2023.
