IP Man 5 will be created. Donnie Yen surprises and confirms the project

First, Screen Daily announced that Mandarin Motion Pictures presented three projects at the Cannes fair. They are among Flash Point Resurgence (continuation of the movie Ruthless game), Misjudgement and exactly IP Man 5. A moment later Donnie Yen officially confirmed the latter project by posting a teaser poster on social media. It also shows that Yen will be behind the camera.

Apart from the announcement that this film will be made, absolutely nothing is known about the project. The Ip Man series with Donnie Yen has global popularity because, despite its low budget, it earns a fortune. IP Man 4 from 2019 collected USD 176.3 million from all over the world. At the time, it was said that this would be the last part, but apparently, due to the popularity, plans have changed.

Let’s remember that the university Ip Man is still being developed. Spin-offs and prequels with other actors in the role are still being made, but none of these films have achieved either the quality or popularity of productions with Yen.
