The TVP 4K channel officially launched yesterday at 3 pm with the opening ceremony of the event in Qatar and the first match between the hosts of the championship and the Ecuador national team. TVP 4K will be broadcast at least until December 18, i.e. the day of the final match, and then it will be turned off again until the next great football event – Euro 2024, to which TVP also has the rights.
Unfortunately, TVP 4K is not available to everyone. First, ultra-high-definition broadcasts are not available for online streaming. However, we can watch matches online on the TVP Sport channel, which streams images in HD resolution.
The lack of streaming in 4K is probably dictated by technical parameters, such as the bandwidth of TVP servers, which went through hard times several times during sports events enjoying high interest among viewers.
TVP 4K is available on terrestrial television on the DVB-T2/HEVC test multiplex (also known as MUX 6) and of course requires a TV set and an antenna compatible with the DVB-T2/HEVC standard. TVP 4K will occupy LCN 36.
Access to TVP 4K is also available to subscribers of the Canal+ platform and cable networks and Internet TV from such providers as, among others: Vectra, Multimedia Polska, Jambox, Telewizja Fiber, Elsat (all from the Vectra Group), Orange TV, Toya, Inea, T- Mobile, Avios, Promax, JMDI, Telpol/Joy TV and Cable Television Chopin.
On Tuesday, November 22, the Polish national team will play its first match in group C at the World Cup. The Mexico-Poland match will start at 17:00.
