HBO Max – new movies and series for the first half of March 2023. List of news

Once again, HBO Max news without big and well-known titles. Apart from the next episodes The Last of Us we basically have one recognizable novelty in the form of season 2 Perry Mason. Besides, it’s hard to find anything loud from original productions here, because we either have niche titles or simply old ones.
HBO Max – selected series and programs for March 2023
- Marlon Wayans: God Loves Me – Legendary comedian Marlon Wayans reflects on his life and career through the lens of an infamous incident during the 2022 Oscars.
- FBoy Island Spain (FBoy Island Spain) – Three girls fed up with insincere partners are looking for guys with serious intentions. They land on an island paradise with 11 “nice guys” who believe in love and 11 “Fboys” who are looking for fun and money. Will they discover who is who?
- Perry Mason II – Months after the conclusion of the Dodson investigation, a scion of a powerful family is brutally murdered. Perry, Della and Paul find themselves at the center of a case where conspiracies keep coming to light.
- Rain Dogs – An original story of mother-daughter love, true friendships, and potential blocked by poverty and prejudice.

- Kierpce (Sandals) – A widowed father tells his only daughter an adventurous fairy tale, trying to teach her the value of courage and determination. But is it really a fairy tale? The true story of Romanian Dan “Phileas Fogg” Dumitru, who undertook the unprecedented challenge of traveling around the world. The story of a thirteen-year journey that cost the lives of his three companions is transformed into an animated lesson about perseverance in the face of loss.
- Castells – After breaking up with Boris, Lara returns to her native Barcelona, where her friends, lovers and Catalan traditions will change her dreams and desires.
- About Tastes and Colors (Not My Type) – Marcia is a young Parisian singer from a good family who records an album with her idol Daredjane, a rock icon from the 70’s. However, when Daredjane suddenly dies, Marcia must obtain permission from the owner of the rights to the deceased’s work, Anthony, a thirty-something suburban salesman. The man never liked his distant relative, let alone her music. Their two worlds collide, which causes a series of unexpected situations.
- The Record – A dealer in antique musical instruments receives an unusual vinyl record from a traveler. “It reads your mind and recreates your lost memories,” says the wanderer. The man becomes obsessed with her, and his memories come flooding back.
Ankara Leopard (Anatolian Leopard) – At Turkey’s oldest zoo, a lonely director and a life-damaged officer form an unlikely bond: they cover up the death of the zoo’s oldest resident, an Anatolian leopard, and fake its escape to stop the privatization process. This leads to a farce that quickly spirals out of control. - Rent – The action of this musical story takes place in New York’s East Village at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s. Its heroes are young, ambitious artists who struggle with the hardships of everyday life. They are notoriously short of money for current expenses, some of them are HIV positive, and some cannot free themselves from drug addiction. This group of eccentric young people experience artistic ups and downs, amorous elation and disappointment, while getting the most out of life.
- The Evil Dead – A group of college students decide to spend a carefree weekend in an abandoned cottage in the mountains. There, they find the legendary book of the dead, “Naturan Demantos”, and a tape cassette containing the text of a spell that summons demons. The young people do not realize that by listening to the tape, they awaken the powers of darkness.
- The Grudge: The Grudge – A young housewife murders her family in her own home. Her case is handled by Detective Muldoon (Andrea Riseborough), who moved to the town with her son after the death of her husband. The woman soon discovers that the house is cursed by a vengeful spirit. A policewoman must do everything to protect herself and her son from death at the hands of a demon.
- Parsley (Parsley) – A young Haitian woman named Marie is expecting her first child with her loving husband Frank. One night she is awakened by screams. It turns out that the authorities ordered the immediate execution of all Haitians on Dominican soil. Marie flees to a neighboring town to try to find her lover. Unfortunately to no avail. Alone in the mountains and 9 months pregnant, she tries to make her way through the inland area, hoping to save her life. The painting evokes the theme of the slaughter of Haitians that took place in the Dominican Republic in 1937.
- Dick Long is dead (The Death of Dick Long) – Dick is dead. He died last night after a band rehearsal, and his colleagues Zeke (Michael Abbott, Jr.) and Earl (Andre Hyland) don’t want anyone to know how it happened. But in small-town Alabama, word travels fast and the men are terrible at covering their tracks. Authorities have yet to identify the body, but Zeke’s wife (Virginia Newcomb) and daughter become very suspicious.
- True Things – Kate sleepwalks through life and is suddenly awakened by a chance encounter with a charismatic stranger. However, their emotional relationship is disrupted by a car accident.
- House Party – When a pair of cleaners discover they’re supposed to clean Lebron James’s mansion while he’s away, they decide to throw a giant party. When the situation spins out of control, a series of events occur that they will never forget.
- Surf’s Up – Penguin Cody dreams of taking part in the annual Penguin Surfing World Championships and standing on the top of the podium.
- Agnes Joy – Rannveig experiences burnout in all aspects of her mundane life in the suburbs. A woman stuck in a job she hates and her slowly dying marriage. Moreover, he constantly fights with his rebellious daughter Agnes and cannot accept the fact that the girl will grow up and leave her alone. When a new neighbor arrives in their lives, handsome actor Hreinn, Rannveig and the family face new challenges beyond their control.
- Summer Frost (Un hiver en ete) – It’s summer and the polar cold is haunting France. Ten lonely and lost souls create ten stories that pay homage to Monet’s water lilies and at the same time create an impressionistic picture of today’s France.
- The 400 Blows – Thirteen-year-old Antoine Doinel lives with his parents in a cluttered Paris apartment. Neglected by his mother, misunderstood by his stepfather, he begins to rebel against all institutions of power.
- The Last Metro – The action of the film begins in 1942 in Paris and tells the story of a Jewish theater director and his French wife, who hides him from the Germans in the theater’s basement, where she still works as its boss and actress.
- Stolen Kisses – Nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe, the third part of the story about the life adventures of Antoine Doinel – the hero of the film series directed by the master François Truffaut.
- Hard Shell, Soft Shell – A 20-year-old oyster farmer thinks he’s made it in life. However, when everything does not go according to his plan, and his beloved breaks his heart, the boy must confront reality.
- Ad Astra: Into the Stars (Ad Astra) – Astronaut Roy McBride (Brad Pitt) embarks on an expedition to the edge of the solar system to find his missing father (Tommy Lee Jones) three decades earlier and find out exactly what threatens the future of our planet. During his journey, he uncovers secrets that will question the meaning of human existence and our place in the universe.
- Poppie Nongena – Poppie is a South African Xhosa mother whose life revolves around her family. When her husband becomes too ill to work, she fights to stay in her own country, where she is considered an illegal resident.
- The Hill Where Lionesses Roar – Somewhere in Kosovo, in a small remote village, three young women find their dreams and ambitions stifled. However, their need for freedom is so strong that it is difficult to stop it.
