Gossip Girl deleted. HBO Max does not want a third season

The American platform HBO Max says goodbye to the series gossip Girl after two seasons aired. The news was confirmed by showrunner and creator Joshua Safran. Fans suspected it might be another victim of cost-cutting, but the platform’s CFO in January 2023 says they won’t be doing it again this year. So this is rather the reason for the low interest in the title, which translated into unsatisfactory viewership. Thus, the series joins the long list of titles without an ending, because the second season ended with a cliffhanger, i.e. the plot was interrupted at a key moment.
So here's the goss: it is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce GOSSIP GIRL will not be continuing on HBO Max. The EPs and I will forever be grateful to: pic.twitter.com/kLpEn8kCMG

Gossip Girl – why was the series canceled?
Foreign media say straight: the new Gossip Girl has never rebuilt what the original captivated viewers years ago. In addition, the series received quite average reviews in the first season, which had to translate into the viewership of the second season.
HBO Max published a statement regarding this cassation. They didn’t do it too regularly, so it’s probably meant to emphasize that this is just a normal, traditional series cancellation. In this text, they thank the creators for their work and appreciate their efforts to introduce this world to new viewers.
