GI Joe – Channing Tatum honestly hates this movie. Why did he play?

We know since 2015 that Channing Tatum hates the movie GI Joe: Time of the Cobra. In a new interview, he revealed that he didn’t want to be in it so much that he turned down the producers at Paramount Pictures seven times. He tried to do everything in his power not to appear in this super production.

– I turned them down seven times in the first part, but they had a contract and I had to make this film. When the second one came out, of course I didn’t want to play it.
Channing Tatum has signed a three-film deal with Paramount Pictures. Under it, he cannot refuse the producers’ proposals, because if he definitely did not want to play, the studio could sue him. So he was forced to take the role. He managed to convince the bosses to make a sequel GI Joe: Retaliation they killed his character in the first 10 minutes.
And this is how the actor explained in 2015 why he hates this film so much and why he fought so hard not to play in it.
– I love GI Joe. I asked if I could play Snake Eyes and they said, “No, you’re not playing Snake Eyes, you’re playing GI Joe.” The script just wasn’t good. Because of that, I didn’t want to star in something I’ve been a fan of since I was a kid and watched it every morning growing up. I didn’t want to play because, first of all, it was bad. Second, I didn’t know if I wanted to be GI Joe.
