Forspoken – game reviews already online. Did the experiment with the new brand pay off?

Forspoken is a brand new brand in Square Enix’s publishing catalog. The game, for which the Luminous Productions studio is responsible, was a great unknown. Some of the trailers and pre-release materials delighted with the beautiful setting and fantastic world, but already in the demo version you could sense some problems. Unfortunately, the reviews that have already appeared on the web indicate that not all of them have been repaired.
On Opencritic, the Japanese studio’s work has an average rating of 69/100 with 53 reviews from critics. The vast majority of them agree that this title had a lot of potential, but unfortunately it was not used properly. The combat system and exploration with the help of “magic parkour” can be a lot of fun in places, but both of these elements become simply boring over time. Repetitive, side activities also make a poor impression. Most reviewers also point out the poor, predictable story, and the open world itself feels empty and lifeless.
However, there is no shortage of much more positive assessments. Joseph Moorer from Gaming Nexus stated that “Forspoken is absolutely fantastic” and raves about the available spells, equipment, bosses and even the plot, and David Flynn, writing for GamingTrend, stated that he will return to this production many times.
Here are some of the ratings given:
- Gaming Nexus – 9.5/10
- GamingTrend – 9/10
- Game Informer – 7.5/10
- Wccftech – 7/10
- The Gamer – 3.5/5
- IGN – 6/10
About how it actually works Forspoken You will be able to find out on January 24, when the game will debut on PC and PlayStation 5.
