Doom Patrol and Titans canceled. James Gunn comments on the end of the series

HBO Max is deleting more series. Doom Patrol and Titans, two titles based on DC comics, will end with their fourth seasons currently airing. Behind the fans is the premiere of seasons 4A, so the upcoming season 4B will be the final one. As reported by Deadline, the creators of both series received information well in advance to prepare and shoot the ending of the story.
Doom Patrol and Titans – James Gunn’s fault?
Fans immediately began attacking on Twitter James Gunn, now co-head of the DC Universe, thinking it was his fault. Gunn commented on it like this:
– The decision to end these series was made before our arrival. I wish the talented group of creators, actors and the team producing both series all the best.
This is echoed by Deadline. According to journalists, the plan to end both series in their fourth seasons was created when both series moved to HBO Max from the now-defunct DC Universe platform. At that time, the creators were to plan the story for two seasons, which would end the whole story.

It is also, to some extent, the end of an era, because the Berlanti Productions studio of the famous producer and creator of the Arrowverse, Greg Berlanti, was responsible for the production. Out of all his comic series, he’s the only one left at the moment superman and lois which has not yet been deleted.
At the moment, it is not known when seasons 4B will premiere, but it is assumed that it will be in spring 2023 at the latest.
