DC – the director surprises. Shazam! 2 will be “Mini-Avengers”

David Sandberg – the director of both Shazam movies – in an interview with GamesRadar commented that the new part of the series, i.e The wrath of the gods, it will be like an Avengers show on a smaller scale. How? It’s about the number of characters on the screen. Check out the filmmaker’s full commentary below and see for yourself.

In an interview with GamesRadar, the director also admitted that the sequel has more resources at its disposal than the first one, thanks to which it can finally compete with other superhero productions.

DC – like Shazam! 2 will resemble the Avengers movie?

David Sandberg compared Shazam! 2 to the movie The Avengersbecause they had to “fit” a lot of heroes and villains in one movie:

It’s like a “mini-Avengers” movie… That’s how I see it because we have so many heroes. There are heroes, there are villains, there are monsters. That’s a lot to pack into one movie. And it’s complicated: shooting and staging up to 11 characters in one scene… Where do you put them all? It’s really hard!

He’ll be back in the sequel Zachary Levi as the titular superhero plus Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Meagan Good as Darla, Ross Butler as Eugene, Grace Fulton as Mary, DJ Cotrona as Pedro and Adam Brody as the older Freddy. They will be joined by Rachel Zegler and Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu as the wicked daughters of Atlas.
