Citadel a success. There will be a 2nd season – who will direct?

Amazon Prime Video gives the green light. There will be a 2nd season Citadel. This time, however, he will stand alone behind the camera for the entire season Joe Russo. The first series had different directors led by the Russo brothers, but they were here as well Jessica Yu and Newton Thomas Sigel. David Weil returns as showrunner for the series.

Citadel – the success of the series?

Prime Video also announced that Citadel is the second most watched series outside the US in the history of the platform. The first according to the site are Rings of Power. Citadel in the global category, it is in fourth position.

Jennifer Salke, head of Prime Video and MGM Studios calls Citadel a global phenomenon. Their goal from the beginning was to create a new franchise that would conquer the world. According to her, the fantastic results outside the US are a testament to their success. Spin-offs set and created in different countries of the world are in production.

Citadel despite its budget and ambitions, it received rather mediocre reviews from viewers and critics. It is not known whether the second season will have a budget at a similar level of theatrical production. The series is produced by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Otstot and Scott Nemes. Weil, Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkne and Scott Rosenberg are executive producers.
