Bill Gates reveals what smartphone he uses every day
But what people really want to know is what phone they use every day. This question has now found an answer once again and it turns out that Gates is a loyal fan of foldables, although not those of his former company.
During a Reddit AMA in last year Bill Gates has revealed his love for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 by saying it’s both a portable computer and a phone. If you’re wondering why he didn’t opt for the Microsoft Surface Duo 2, it’s probably because it’s not a great smartphone, and it’s not a true foldable smartphone either, as it uses two separate screens connected by a hinge. What is supposed to change with Surface Duo 3.
Gates attended another one yesterday Reddit AMAwhere he was again asked if he already uses a new phone on a daily basis. He replied: Galaxy Z Fold 4. With a personal fortune of $111 billion, the phone’s close to PLN 10,000 price point is hardly a problem, but it looks like he didn’t have to pay for a new smartphone because Samsung CEO Jay Y Lee gave it to him when met in South Korea.
The billionaire confirmed that he is still a fan of Microsoft products, mentioning that he uses Outlook and other Redmond software on his Z Fold 4. Gates also highlighted the huge size of the unfolded screen as the reason why he does not use a tablet, only a phone and his “portable on a Windows computer.
Like Gates, we think the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is great, with one of the few downsides being the astronomical price tag, so we took it to Comic Con last year.
