Star Wars: Andor by many viewers is considered one of the best acting productions in the history of Star Wars. No wonder that after the premiere season, most fans are already waiting for the next episodes. We have known for a long time that the second season will be created and will also have 12 episodes. What will we see in them? head writer, Tony Gilroy shared the first details.
Recall that in the final episode, Andor returns to Ferrix to attend the funeral of his mother, Merva. However, Imperial troops are waiting for him, which results in escalation and clashes between the services and the inhabitants. However, the title character managed to escape together with the people closest to him and finally decides to join Luthen, probably wanting to take an active part in the activities of the nascent rebellion. In an interview with the Collider portal, the showrunner revealed, among other things, that we can expect a small time jump. The action will take place a year after the last scene with Andor and Luthen. The creator announces that none of the characters we have met so far will die, i.e. there will be no situation in which someone has lost their life outside the frame this year.
At the same time, the showrunner suggests that he cannot promise how long they will last, so we can expect at least one farewell to an important character in season 2. However, K-2SO (voice Alan Tudyk), whom we remember from the movie Rogue 1. Star Wars Stories. Gilroy said the introduction of this droid is “one of the responsibilities” of the second half of the show, so it’s finally getting to that point. The Hollywood Reporter also asked the creator if he was thinking about continuing his adventure with the Star Wars universe after the end of Andorra.
It’s literally hard for me to answer that question. There isn’t much of a way for me to find an answer to that. It looks like at the end of these five years I will want to go do something else. I mean, I always like to do something different. I’ve never tried to work on something by repeating certain things, but I wouldn’t say it’s never going to happen either. But what I do know for sure is that I don’t know anything right now.
