Amazon Prime Video breaks off with Jeremy Clarkson. End of The Grand Tour

As reported by Variety and Deadline, Amazon Prime Video breaks off cooperation with Jeremy Clarkson. This is the result of his controversial and universally criticized comments about the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle. He published them in the British tabloid The Sun. Deadline sources at Amazon told them that key people associated with the platform were very unhappy with Clarkson’s behavior. Both portals say that this is the reason for the termination of this cooperation.
The Grand Tour – end of the program
According to the portal, the termination of cooperation means that The Grand Tour and Clarkson’s Farm are deleted. The pre-ordered episodes will be filmed and aired, and that will be the end of both shows. Amazon Prime Video has no intention of signing a new cooperation agreement with Clarkson. This one would probably have been extended if not for this situation. So the presenter will not appear on any new Prime Video show after 2024. The Grant Tour will end with several special episodes; the last one should appear at the end of 2024.
Recall that Clarkson’s controversial comments appeared in December 2022. On January 16, 2023, the presenter posted an additional apology on social media to Markle and Prince Harry. He explains that usually when he writes something, he reads it to someone, but in this case he was home alone and in a hurry, so he sent the text to the editor.
