Aladdin from 2019 directed by Guy Ritchie was a huge Disney box office success and a sequel to the remake was announced shortly after. However, not much official information has surfaced since then.

Aladdin actor, Mena Massoudwhen asked on Twitter by one follower if “we’ll still get it Aladdin 2he replied, “Very unlikely at this point.” Until recently, Massoud, Will Smith and Naomi Scott declared their return to their roles, so it is not clear what influenced the change and whether the film will actually be made.

Aladdin – plot summary

Plot details for Aladdin 2 have never been revealed, but the director has confirmed that the film will include elements of both animated sequels: Aladdin: Return of Jafar and Aladdin and the King of Thieves.

Aladdin (2019), on the other hand, tells the story of Aladdin who meets the Sultan’s daughter, Princess Jasmine. While visiting the palace, the boy stumbles across a magical oil lamp from which a genie emerges. A friendship develops between Aladdin and the genie, and they soon embark on a dangerous mission to tame the evil sorcerer Jafar, who wants to overthrow young Jasmine’s kingdom.
